The Big 50

Yep, I'm 50. It happened, at least by the calendar. Like the young lady Rachel in the story "Eleven", I really don't feel it, I feel like all the ages that came before. I feel as if I am only getting started!

I don't think it's realistic to place expectations on profound moments of reflection the come with anniversaries of this kind; I feel instead that I embrace this  moment as becoming. I therefore reserve the right to spend the entire year becoming and celebrating, since the best moments are not controlled by a calendar. And for those whom I am fortunate enough to call friend, be prepared! We will enjoy the moments as they come with enormous gratitude.

Life has flowed and ebbed, and I have both succeeded and failed in going with it. I have become who I am today with greatest thanks to the actions and influence of my mother Eleanor, my brothers Tike and Tad, and even my father Phillip. I have become who I am thanks to the great and not - so great people with whom I have crossed or shared many paths. For all whom I call friends, I give you my deepest gratitude for accompanying me on this journey. In BJ 's words, time to sparkle on!
